2010 Yamaha YZ250
The new 2010 Yamaha YZ250 is surely one of the most anticipated bikes. The pictures claiming to be spied from Yamaha’s design studio have been roaming the internet for long now, but sadly none of these were real and hence were edited versions of the Yamaha bikes or simply how the editor wants the bike to be. But it is finally out. The most sought after Yamaha feature is still on the bike, the two stroke engine. The YZ features a 249cc engine.
Frame and suspension
This engine is fitted on an Aluminum frame, which makes the bike lighter. The new aluminum handlebar helps the bike steer well while the titanium foot rests give better grip to the rider on the bike. The suspension on the 2010 Yamaha YZ250 is also improved. It now features light titanium shock springs. These springs allow over a foot of movement on the spring, thus better function. The wave style disks on both the front and rear wheels enhance breaking with the front 250F like caliper. Front forks can sense speed and thus adjust the damping for best landing at all the speed jumps.
Engine
2010 Yamaha YZ250 runs a 249cc 2 stroke power plant. This engine has been deliberately kept a 2 stroke one when other manufacturers are going for 4 stroke versions. There have been used carbon fiber valve petals for better engine response over the RPM range. Larger radiator has been installed for better cooling. This liquid cooled engine delivers better power over the running rev-range which makes the ride fast overall. The power value system makes this power distribution possible. The engine connects to a smooth operating 5 speed gearbox. The multi plate clutch has been designed for heavy duty use. The engine is very light which shaves the valuable pounds off the YZ.
Other features
These include a kick starter, on the fly adjustable clutch a digital ignition. The tank and seat provide better grip to the rider for better stunts and movement on the bike, in addition to the gold colored chain plates for the stunning looks of 2010 Yamaha YZ250.
